Organisational benefits

The Teaching and Learning Programme is a quality improvement initiative focused on improving teaching and learning, and is therefore a key driver for organisation excellence.

Subject Learning Coaches can help build your organisation’s capacity to respond to many important initiatives, targets and priorities.

You’ll feel the impact of the training throughout your organisation. Through peer-to-peer coaching, Subject Learning Coaches will strongly contribute to building a flexible, motivated workforce. They will also have access to a regional and national network of support through the subject coaching networks.

It will illuminate and refresh approaches to teaching and training, helping your staff to inspire and motivate learners.

In order for your organisation to reap the reward of participating in the programme, it is essential that you make the most of your Subject Learning Coaches. This website has many tips and case studies on how other organisations through the sector are making it work for them.

To nominate Subject Learning Coaches today, please download and complete the nomination pack. Alternatively, contact us for more information.

The training programme is currently being redeveloped to make it more flexible by facilitating the delivery of Subject Learning Coach training within providers’ own organisations. This builds on the existing Subject Learning Coach facilitator training.

Benefits for the learners

Ultimately it is learner success which is at the heart of what the Teaching and Learning Programme aims to achieve.

Already the programme has shown early signs of making an impact to improve:

  1. learner retention
  2. learner satisfaction and enjoyment
  3. learner results.

The managers' area has more detailed information on the positive impact the programme is already having on learners.
