2. Co-ordinate your approach
By drawing together others who have common goals and by making your implementation strategy serve the wider organisational objectives, you will enable the National Teaching and Learning Change Programme to contribute fully to the success of your organisation.
Build your team
You will already have given careful consideration to who should be your Subject Learning Coach. You may even have formalised the position by establishing a job description and person specification for the role. Whether you have one or more Subject Learning Coach, you are likely to have other stakeholders with common or overlapping goals who can work together to add weight to the initiative and increase its impact. Giving all those people opportunities to work together will increase the likelihood of realising your vision as well as maximising cohesion and effect. Other possible stakeholders may include these:
- senior managers who can add a strategic steer, authority and resources
- curriculum or programme managers who can maintain the focus on the quality of the project outcomes
- learning resource specialists who can help by giving access to the teaching and learning resources, making resources available electronically or reproducing resources/templates
- other specialist staff such as Advanced Practitioners and Skills for Life practitioners
- human resources personnel and those responsible for staff development
- initial teacher training and continuing professional development teams
- enthusiasts or those with specialist expertise of value to the project.
Who in your organisation can help you realise your vision and goal(s)?
