Quality improvement: changing how we support and measure it

The Quality Improvement Agency (QIA)

In April 2006 QIA took on the development of a new national quality improvement strategy — building on the key achievements of the Success for All initiative. Since then, QIA has consulted the sector on Pursuing Excellence, published a response to this consultation and a website to support the implementation of the national improvement strategy for the further education system.

The Advisers will work alongside organisations to put together tailored packages of support to target specific areas of provision or management in need of improvement.

The LSC Framework for Excellence

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has produced its Framework for Excellence driven by the Agenda for Change and the Further Education White Paper. It builds on the work carried out on measures of success and a new approach to managing performance across the further education system. Key objectives of the Framework are to make learning provision more responsive and demand led, to increase the proportion of good and outstanding provision and to reduce bureaucracy.
