Teaching and learning resources
Gold dust: resources for teacher educators
If you teach on teacher education programmes or coach and support colleagues to improve their teaching and learning, this resource is for you.
The new Gold dust website harnesses the potential of the outstanding resources developed through the Teaching and Learning Programme so that they can be used as generic resources in a wide range of contexts.
Originally developed with learners, teachers, teacher educators and national education organisations across the further education sector, the resources inform you about and illustrate emerging practice. They can help you to make a contribution to the national drive to support and develop teachers to effectively meet the needs of their learners. They also make a real contribution to the emergence of a whole sector approach to initial teacher education and professional development.
In order to obtain your free copy please come along to one of the regional networks where you will receive information from subject experts about how these resources can be used in your teaching environment. To register for one of these events please visit www.subjectlearningcoach.net/events.aspx or call the SLC helpline on 0845 602 9154.

Rethinking induction (Spring 2009)
Learners’ early experiences on their programme can have a significant impact on their subsequent progress. Getting off to a good start benefits both learners and teachers. Careful planning of the first few days and weeks of a learner’s programme helps establish a solid foundation on which future learning can build. By supporting a partnership approach to planning, the new Rethinking induction resource provides a simple framework to support this process.
There has been several other resources published this year and these are:
- Sustaining success
- Developing the expert learner
- Learning Mathematics in context
- Talking strategy: Messages for Managers
These exciting resources were released at our subject coaching networks. If you would like to view the full list of resources available, please click here. If you would like to place an order please complete the form and return to subjectlearningcoach@nordanglia.com.
